Um, well this is a bit of a surprise! Amancio Ortega, owner of massively successful brand Zara, is now Europe’s richest billionaire and the world’s third richest, knocking Warren Buffet down to fourth place! I mean who’d have thunk it? This story totally restores my faith in the shear scope of possibilities within the fashion industry!
Unfortunately Ortega’s wealth is not solely down to the success of Zara, but the clothing chain has evidently played it’s part in knocking owner of IKEA off the top spot! But I don’t know whether it’s just me, but Zara wouldn’t have been my first guess for contributing to some billionaire snagging the richest man title on Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index. Tell me you’re with me on this one? I would’ve thought more in the likes of H&M or Topshop even!?
Ah well, I most definitely won’t knock the hustle. Honestly couldn’t tell you the last time I shopped in Zara, but obviously a lot of you fashion lovers are religiously unleashing your pay cheques in their stores! I can’t deny they have some killer items! Get it Amancio!
